The Season is Achangin'

Fall is in the air! Can you feel it? This morning I had to run to the post office. As soon as I opened the house door I could smell the coming rain, and for the first time in a long time, it made me smile. I've always been a summer person and probably always will be, and I used to feel a little down when summer ended and fall began. Not so this time. The rain smelled awesome and the drops that fell on me as I got out of the car to go into the post office were very refreshing. For the first time I find myself actually looking forward to the coming wet and cold seasons. I'm looking forward to the change and the new experiences that will come with it. I guess this reaffirms that though I might be growing older in body, I'm growing younger in the mind. This is a good thing, right?

Suggested Reading

Book: The Dragon War Relic
Author: Berin L. Stephens

I love reading a good sci-fi fantasy, especially young adult ones, and The Dragon War Relic was a very fun book to read.

The Book
A mysterious explosion, a gold ring, and the fate of the Earth and the universe . . . For Jared Mills, summer has never been more exciting! When Jared receives an odd-looking ring from a complete stranger, he never imagines it will lead to aliens, spaceships, lasers, and dragons! With the ring comes great responsibility, and Jared discovers that he is Earth's representative to the entire galaxy. Suddenly, he finds himself in a fast-paced adventure where he must discover the cause of a mysterious explosion and the truth about his predecessor's death. Along the way, Jared joins up with a strange collection of allies: his childhood friend, an Ogre, an Angel, and three short Star Trek loving Elves. What they uncover changes everything even the course of Earth s destiny! Science fiction slams into fantasy, creating a humorous and action-filled story. The Dragon War Relic will keep you laughing to the very last page.

This story was original, awesome, and totally hilarious. Youth and adults alike will love it!
